Belinder is proud to be a National PTA School of Excellence for 2015-2017! Help us earn it again for 2017-2019 by completing the survey below!

National PTA School of Excellence is a recognition program that supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students and that Belinder Elementary PTA in collaboration with Belinder School Administration is working to achieve.

As a National PTA School of Excellence, families feel welcomed and empowered to support student success, and PTA is a key partner for continuous school improvement.  The path to excellence starts with a joint commitment of PTA and school leaders to work together to achieve PTA’s National Standards for Family-School Partnerships.

Through implementation of the School of Excellence program, Belinder Elementary PTA and Belinder School will gain new ways to engage families in school decision-making, such as improvements to programs, practices and policies related to education, health, safety, or the arts.

Here are the first steps that Belinder PTA has looked at to establish a family-school partnership:

The building blocks to effective communication between parents, schools and parent groups

Encouraging parent involvement to heighten student achievement

Methods for becoming an effective advocate for children and their education

Standard 5 – Sharing Power
Ways to share power between families, students, teachers, school staff and the community

Standard 6 – Collaborating With Community
Resources for connecting the school with the community
