Any parent participating in field trips, even if they are just meeting the class at the field trip site, must go thru the MVP training.
You read that correctly, this is new from last year. Steps to Become an MVP Volunteer (please do these steps in order):
- Complete an online MVP application.
- Attend a MVP training session.
- Drop-in fingerprint screening is available at the Center for Academic Achievement, 8200 W. 71st St., on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30am – 12:00pm and from 1:00 – 4:00pm.
Fingerprints can only be done AFTER attending a training session**
We are working to schedule MVP training at Belinder. Until then, the following training sessions have been scheduled at other schools:
9/29 @ 5:30pm @ Roseland
10/2 @ 6:00pm @ Belinder
Renewing MVPs (Volunteers who are currently serving as MVPs but need to renew their fingerprints) do not need to renew their fingerprints until the second semester. Instead, have them check in through Raptor. I plan to send an email to all renewing MVPs letting them know.
